PURPOSE

WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?

A mindful purpose is key to motivate and engage employees

Thanks to these inspiring interviews we realised that the essence of a sustainable company comes from the mindset of its employees which is tightly connected to the purpose of the company itself.

Hence, to achieve the UN’s sustainable development  goals, businesses require mindful purposes, which rely on sustainable principles. Exponential growth and financial targets are no longer viable “purposes” for a company. Companies with a “green” mindset contribute to a sustainable world. It is not just advice but more a requirement for companies to revolutionise their purpose in a more environmentally and socially  friendly one.

The outcome of our interviews confirmed that businesses having engaged with sustainability with their employees initiated a domino effect on the rest of the company rendering the task of sustainability as a whole easier.  Companies that adopt sustainable behaviour enable people to be more apt to make other positive changes.

We encourage you to listen to a recent podcast of Vincent Stanley, Vp of Philosophy, Patagonia. Vincent says that “When we do things for the right reason, we often have really strong benefits to the business that if you are thinking conventionally you would never expect, you would never anticipate”.
